In 1964-65 Lt. Dale D. Eddy was flying with HMM-163, the Yankee Papa Squadron ferrying South Vietnamese infantry to the front. Then on March 1965 they were attacked and dad’s ship, YP-3 took on heavy gun fire and he was hit in the neck – temporarily paralyzing him. This is that heroic story of the men that rescued him.

Dad gives a quick description of his Marine Corp career with a vivid description of March 31st events followed by a standing ovation. This presentation was to a group of Vets and family members that were members of Sons of the American Revolution (Brazos Valley #45 Chapter) in Granbury, Texas in February 2018. He was also honored with a Certificate of Appreciation of Military Service from Sons of the American Revolution.
